Our SNP soccer program is held once a week on Sunday mornings for 8 weeks (no sessions will be held during long weekends). We will require many volunteers to be “Big Buddies” to the kids that participating in this program. We are hoping for a minimum of 60 volunteers. There will be a ratio of one volunteer with every special needs child. All volunteers will receive community service hours/reference letter at the completion of the program.
As this program is growing we need as many volunteers as possible, keeping that in mind we will be unable to guarantee that friends who are volunteering together will be assigned to the same child. Please do not let this discourage you from volunteering, remember that we will all be on the same field at the same time and we will all be working together to make this a great experience for the children.

Volunteers – What do you need to be a ‘Big Buddy’?
1) You must be 15 years of age or older in the year 2020
2) Available to attend all 8 sessions (each session is approx 1 hour in length) If you cannot attend a session, we must be notified well in advance so that we have ample time to find a replacement for that day. These children require stability therefore if prior to the start of the program, you know that you will miss 4 or more sessions please let us know as soon as possible.

4) Must be outgoing, energetic, patient and be open to having lots of fun

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHEN DOES REGISTRATION BEGIN?
Registration begins Monday February 10th, 2020 and will be open until Friday March 20th, 2020. (Registration dates will only be extended if space is still available, however if the program fills up prior to March 20th, then registration will be closed and all registrations received thereafter will be placed on a waiting list).
DO YOU ACCEPT CHILDREN OF ALL AGES?
We accept children between the ages of 5 and 18 (born between 2015 through to 2002).
HOW/WHERE CAN I REGISTER?
Registration will only be accepted in person at the Vaughan Soccer Club office Monday to Thursday 12:00pm to 8:30pm & Saturday’s 10:00am to 2:00pm.
WHY DO I NEED TO REGISTER IN PERSON?
Parents must register in person so they have the opportunity to look at the uniform and order the appropriate size. Replacement uniforms will not be ordered. Only legal guardians will be permitted to register a child for this program.
IS SPACE UNLIMITED?
In order to provide a safe and fun filled experience for our players, space is limited. The maximum number of players that will be accepted into the 2020 program will be 30 kids. Players will be accepted on a first come first serve basis – spots will not be saved.
WHAT IS THE COST?
This program is sponsor funded and completely free of charge.
WHAT ARE THE DATES OF EACH SESSION?
The sessions will be held on the following Sundays: June 7, 14, 21, 28, July 12, 19, 26 & August 9, 2020.
WHERE WILL THEY BE PLAYING?
The field we will be using is the Mc Naughton turf field which is located on the northwest corner of Keele Street and Mc Naughton Road (north of Major Mackenzie Dr).
HOW LONG IS EACH SESSION?
Each session runs from 9:00am to 10:00am (the field is being used by other groups following this program therefore extra time will not be available).
WHAT DO WE NEED TO PURCHASE?
Each child will receive a full uniform (jersey, shorts, & socks, uniforms will be distributed shortly before the start of the season). You must purchase either outdoor or indoor turf shoes (running shoes work just as well) and shin pads.
DOES A PARENT OR GUARDIAN HAVE TO BE PRESENT FOR EACH SESSION?
Yes, it is mandatory that a parent or guardian is present and does not leave during each session.
CAN SIBLINGS PARTICIPATE DURING EACH SESSION?
For insurance purposes and in order to run a safe program, only those registered as players or volunteers are permitted on the field. we must ask that parents and siblings stay off the field.
