What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead… Nelson Mandela

We must trust God’s path. The incredible sorrow, the incredible pain, the incredible void is inexplicable. It’s a time to mourn for what we lost. We lost a father, a son, a brother, a mentor and a friend. Jody was given to us for his giving, whether sitting on the folded chair teaching, inspiring, loving his VSC U8s or on the York University bench, he selflessly gave his incredible energy, passion, sacrifice, and kindness to so many. Many loved him because he defined what giving love was.

We lost a father, his relentless love for Alessio shaped his whole reason for life. With all of the limitless love he could give, he gave it to Alessio.

Jody was a product of his incredible family, Antonette,  Giodi Sr., Ricardo and Luca always put love and kindness first. Jody was kind and beautiful. Let us all be kind to each other and please do what we can do to support Alessio and the Forno family. Please take a moment and remember your own story of Jody through the beautiful pictures and remember we must trust God’s path.

Jody was an ambassador to Soccer at large and a fabric of the Vaughan Soccer Club for over 15 years. He will be missed by all but not forgotten, as he left a lasting impression on many.

The Vaughan Soccer Club has set-up a Go Fund Me to support the Forno family with associated funeral costs and a trust fund for Alessio.  Any donation is greatly appreciated –the link is in our bio and below :  gf.me/u/zc496r
